"Still will I harvest beauty where it grows..."

Vincent is a four-foot-long ball python who is named, literarily enough, after Edna St. Vincent Millay, the modernist poet who was "Vincent" to her friends. The poet was notoriously and very publicly bi-sexual, and the snake's sex is notoriously difficult to determine. Vincent is the remaining member of my household.

  1. great shot.....although I'm quite sure that Vincent and I would not be friends of any kind.

  2. It's a fabulous shot but now I know I could never visit you.

  3. The depth and definition in this is stellar -- and if my niece saw it, she would faint. No kidding.

  4. This is terrific shot. When I was younger I liked snakes--well non-poisonous ones--like garter snakes, puff adders, and blue racers. They were so cool to the touch, and amazingly muscled, and so enigmatic.

But it's been year since I've been near a snake so not sure how I would react these days.
