This is a magnificent old willow beside--you guessed it--Twelve-Mile Creek. I've seen everything in it from kingfishers and cardinals to squirrels and raccoons to boys with fishing lines, and once a pair of young lovers.

So, Myra and I headed off for the weekend to visit my father and his wife, leaving behind a world that was rainy, but that had had one (light) frost, had most of the leaves still on the trees, with some of them still green ... and arriving in a snowy wonderland. It really was beautiful, if a little unsettling.
